Dockmamman har anlänt. Och fått nya kläder/ The doll mum has arrived. And got new clothes

 Igår anlände dockskåpsmamman i ett paket från Tyskland. Tillverkaren Caco är tysk och jag hittade henne på tyska eBay. Som ni ser var hon snitsigt klädd i lite 1930-talsstil. Kläderna var inte viktiga, men jag ville ha en docka i samma stil som barnen. Och pappan då, men det var ju en ren slump att jag hittade honom på loppis, annars hade han också fått beställas från Tyskland.

Yesterday the mum for the dolls house arrived in package from Germany. The maker, Caco, is German and I got her from German eBay. As you can see her outfit is slightly 1930s. The clothes were not that important, but I wanted a doll in the same style as the kids. And as the dad, but finiding him in a second hand shop was a real fluke, otherwise a dad would also have been ordered from Germany.

Kläderna avlägsnades försiktigt och så fick hon ett linne av mina gamla trosor, precis som pappans underställ. Jag har nu fållat och kastat de råa kanterna i hennes originalkläder och får jag bara sytt i en liten tryckknapp så går de att ta på igen om hon skulle vilja det.

I removed her clothes carefully and then I made her a vest from my old panties, just like the dad doll's vest and longjohns. I have also hemmed and finished the raw edges on her original clothes and as soon as I have sewn a small snap button in them she can wear them again if she wants to.

Majken, hon heter så, behövde emellertid kläder som passade bättre att arbeta i, så jag sydde en städrock till henne i blommig bomull. Det är svårt att hitta tillräckligt småmönstrat tyg. Även om man letar utanför sitt eget tygförråd. På bilden har jag nålat fast en liten puffärm. Eftersom allting är så smått måste man dels fålla ärmarna, dels sy fast ärmkullen innan man syr ihop hela sidan på en gång: från ärm till fåll.

Majken, that's her name, needed clothes more fitting for work, so I made her a house dress from printed cotton. It is very hard to find fabrics with small enough print, even if you look outside your own fabric stash. In the photo I have pinned a puff sleeve to the shoulder and sides. Since everything is so small you must hem sleeves (and trousers) before attaching them to the body and you must also sew the sleeves to the main pieces before sewing the sides, which you sew from cuff to hem. 

Lite foton, där man också ser  andra nya grejer i köket: paradhandduk som jag sydde igår, mjölkkruka och två spjälstolar som jag köpte som byggsats från Kotte Toys. Jättelätta att sätta ihop och precis rätt stil.

 Äntligen är hela familjen samlad. Men nu behöver barnen nya kläder (i synnerhet Bengt, som inte har några byxor.
Finally the whole family is gathered together. But now the kids need new clothes (especially Bengt, who doesn't have any trousers)
