Early spring gave us her very best weather today when my daughter Valeria and I were out demonstrating on the International women's day. Valeria and I walked behind the banner which can be seen below: "Spain's struggle is ours. Right to abortion and the right to protest. Against fascism everywhere". It's not only in Greece and Hungary that fascists and extrem right are gaining power, but alos in for example Spain and Portugal. And women's rights, especially reproductive rights, are among those things that are first taken away.
Bilderna är från Götaplatsen, när vi kommit fram:
The photos are from when the demonstration had reached its destination.
Och en helbild på dagens klädsel:
And a full length photo of my outfit:
Blus, jumper och kjol har jag gjort själv. Jumpern är efter mönstret "Concentrate on the shoulders", från 1937, från boken A stitch in time av Susan Crawford. Blusen är ett mönster från slutet av 1940-talet och kjolmönstret har jag gjort själv. Bekväma skor är viktigt när man ska ut och demonstrera.
I've made the blouse, jumper and skirt myself. The blouse is from a late '40s pattern and the jumper is a 1937 pattern called "Concentrate on the shoulders" from A stitch in time by Susan Crawford. The skirt pattern is self drafted. And you need comfortable shoes for demonstrations.
Sen gick vi till UB och lånade böcker av Yvonne Hirdman och Ulla Wikander.
Then we went to the university library and borrowed books by important Swedish feminist scholars.
